Steph Polinski is a certified art and yoga teacher and a mother of 2 boys who as a child dreamt of being an artist someday. It was not until switching majors in college after encouragement from a dear friend and one of her art professors that she was able to rediscover her passion for art. After receiving her bachelor’s of Art in Visual Art she returned to school to get her teaching certification and later her yoga teaching certification. She has been a school teacher for 12 years and is currently working as a teacher in Ventnor, NJ. When painting, she draws all of her inspiration from the place she loves most – the ocean. She is always inspired each time she is near it. The fact that the ocean, along with the sky, the clouds, and the sunsets never look the same is the beauty that she continually tries to capture. In the beginning of her art career she only painted gifts for friends and never thought she would actually have an art show until she decided to raise money for relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy. Being a new mom not able to volunteer her time, she felt called to paint her first NJ and used the image to make t-shirts which raised over $500 for Waves for Water Hurricane Sandy relief. This is when she realized she could use her talent to raise money for charities and organizations that she felt were near and dear to heart. Steph wants more than anything for her boys and the children she teaches to stay true to themselves, follow their dreams, discover their gifts, and share them with the world. She knows that unless she does it herself she cannot teach or inspire her children to do so.
Steph’s paintings are acrylic on canvas or wood with custom crafted frames built by her husband, PJ.
